ACE (Advanced Clinical Elective)
Course Description
This elective allows students to diagnose and manage a variety of psychiatric disorders. While the focus relies on substance use disorders, senior medical students will also be exposed to a wealth of co-occurring psychiatric diagnosis including mood, psychotic, anxiety disorders and other conditions that require psychiatric hospitalization. Under the supervision of attending physicians, students will manage patients with a variety of therapeutic techniques available for their treatment including pharmacotherapy and basic psychotherapy.
